Dear Participants,

It is my great honor and pleasure to announce that the International Conference of Diabetic Neuropathy and Diabetic Foot will take place in Bucharest, in 17-20 October 2013.

In continuation of the valuable tradition of the previous meetings, the Conference will be devoted to the comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the most up-to-date topics in diabetic neuropathy and diabetic foot, with special focus on both research and clinical practice. It is the specific aim to encourage broad interaction not only in the discussions after the lectures, but also during specific debate sessions and oral and poster presentations. All these will contribute to further development of the close cooperation.

The city of Bucharest, the conference venue, is the capital municipality, cultural, industrial and financial center of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country. Bucharest offers another unique experience along the Dâmboviţa River.

CONF. DR. IOAN VERESIU
PRESIDENT OF NEURODIAB - SOCIETY FOR DIABETIC NEUROPATHY

PROF. DR. AMORIN POPA
PAST PRESIDENT OF NEURODIAB - SOCIETY FOR DIABETIC NEUROPATHY

The Society for Diabetic Neuropathy was established in August 2012 by a national and international group of clinicians and basic researchers, in order to promote a strong collaboration platform for interdisciplinary medicine and to strengthen the knowledge flow from academic community to practitioners.

Neurodiab is a scientific organization focusing on basic and clinical research, creating a discussion forum to contribute to a better understanding of endogenous basic biological processes and consequently development of pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies against the complications of diabetis mellitus, especially against diabetic neuropathy and diabetic foot.

In order to provide an accurate framework for the future and accomplish the goals of our Society, we intend to organize two annual events: an International Conference in October, and a Summer School for Diabetic Neuropathy and Diabetic Foot in July.

Beside this, Neurodiab is involved in post graduate educational projects with the aim of creating bridges between academic community, researchersand practitioners.

Young doctors can benefit of scholarships while basic and clinical researchers of grants.
